What our Clinical Research Associates have to say:
“I have been employed by Covance for two years. I was first hired by Covance as a Clinical Research Assistant. During this time Covance provided me with extensive training and clinical research experience so that I could effectively fill the role of a CRA. For the last year I have been acting as Clinical Research Associate and it has been a dynamic experience. As I look back on my time spent as a research assistant I can see how my training sessions, project specific duties, and mentoring molded my successful career as a CRA. The work environment at Covance is one of flexibility, innovation, imagination, team work, and growth. Everyday I learn something new that enables me to broaden my knowledge and horizon even further.
I have really enjoyed working with my colleagues to accomplish project objectives and can see that what I do has an impact on the success of this company. When entering the clinical research arena, I wanted to work for the best CRO in the industry. Through my experiences and achievements at Covance, I can proudly say that I do work at the best CRO in the world.”-CRA, Leeds
“Working as a monitor in Latin America is a very challenging and exciting experience. It gives you the opportunity to acquire a priceless and thorough knowledge about the local regulations of each of the numerous countries in which Covance conducts research. Besides the difference in the Regulatory processes among the Latin American countries, the most important and valuable thing is to deliver service to Covance within a cultural diversity environment.
In my opinion, interaction with people from other countries in the day-to-day activities has allowed me to bring-up an open-minded view of reality which I did not have before. At Covance, an excellent career opportunity was available for me, and it contributes to my personal development. I am proud of representing Covance in remote locations, because I feel part of this world-class company, which trusts and believes in its human force, and gives to its employees the required support and necessary tools, no matter where in the world they are, in order to ensure work is delivered to clients.”-CRA, Latin America
“In 2000, I graduated from the University of Leeds with a 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology. I then started my first job in Clinical with Aventis Pharma working as a Clinical Project Assistant in their offices in West Malling, Kent. My first real CRA position was working with Innovex (field based) on a large, high profile phase IV Cardiovascular GP study, and from there I moved back to pharma working as a field based lead CRA with AstraZeneca for two and a half years. With a desire to move into an office based Project Management role, I took on the role of Senior CRA with Covance CRU Ltd in November 2006. Covance's reputation as a leading CRO, was very appealing, as were its training and development opportunities. And of course, location!
The People at Covance are also very approachable and helpful. The workload at Covance is challenging. The opportunities offered by Covance are much better than those available when I was working in the Pharma sector. I feel that there is a real focus on personal development here. I get to work across diverse projects interacting with many different individuals - Drs., nurses, clients and Covance departments. I also really enjoy working across early and late stage projects. By taking on this position with Covance, I feel that I have invested in a long lasting career with a company who will develop my required skills to succeed in my chosen path in clinical research. And of course, working in Yorkshire, I did not have to leave family and friends and a home where I am really settled to achieve fulfillment in my chosen career.”-CRA, Yorkshire
“I have been a CRA with Covance for almost two years. I started as a CRA I and have recently been promoted to a CRA II. Working for Covance has been a positive experience for a few reasons. I am able to work independently while receiving encouragement and guidance from my project teams. There is also a tremendous potential for growth at this organization. Covance recognizes hard work and does reward those who strive to do a good job. For these reasons, working for Covance has been a rewarding, positive job experience.”-CRA, New Jersey
“I have worked as a CRA with Covance for three years. During my time here, I have had the privilege to work on studies with various indications allowing me to further my knowledge in diverse therapeutic areas. The knowledge I have gained at Covance has provided me with the growth and experience that will only benefit my future in the field of Clinical Research. I enjoy working as a CRA because it allows you to problem solve independently and with a team to reach a common goal. Covance has a friendly but professional work environment that will challenge your mind in a way that will ultimately be very rewarding.”-CRA, Pennsylvania
“A little over two years ago, while working as a CRA with a large pharmaceutical company, I was invited to make a career move by joining Covance. This decision was, at the time, not an easy one to make; however, today it is one I have certainly not regretted. Since joining the Covance Team, I have been involved in many studies as a CRA. I have also had the opportunity to be invited to participate in contract bids. Currently assigned as a Lead Monitor on a study, I am acquiring valuable experience which will significantly complement the training, education and professional development previously acquired and adds value to my contribution to Team Covance.”-CRA, Canada
